What are assessment and evaluation?

Assessment is turning a student’s level of learning into a number or category through tools such as tests, assignments or observation. Evaluation is interpreting that information against a criterion and reaching a decision. Assessment answers “how much?”; evaluation answers “is this enough, and what should we do?”. The two work together.

How Measura uses it

On the assessment side Measura produces outcome-level data; on the evaluation side a rule-based layer converts results to grades and letter grades according to the country’s and school’s rules. Interpretation and decisions stay with teachers.
