What is a learning outcome?

A learning outcome is an observable, measurable statement of what a student is expected to know or be able to do at the end of a stretch of learning. A curriculum is divided into subjects and units, and units into outcomes, for example “uses ratio and proportion to solve problems”. Outcomes make it possible to assess and support students in more detail than a single grade allows.

How Measura uses it

Measura divides each curriculum into outcomes and the prerequisite links between them. A student’s status is shown outcome by outcome: proficient, partial, needs support, or not enough data yet; the direction of change is shown separately. Educators prepare the outcome structure for each country’s curriculum; AI can suggest draft mappings, and educators approve them.
