What is a distractor?
A distractor is any one of the wrong options in a multiple-choice question. A good distractor looks plausible to a student who has not fully learned the topic. If most high-achieving students pick the same distractor, the question or its answer key may be flawed, and the item should be reviewed.

How Measura uses it
Measura watches distractor choice patterns. A warning such as “science, item 14: most high-achieving students chose the same distractor” appears in the leader’s morning brief, and the item stays flagged until an assessment specialist has reviewed it.
